Moses in injury scare

The long anticipated return of Victor Moses to the Super Eagles may have been dealt a blow following the injury scare for the Nigerian winger in Stoke’s City game away to Sunderland Saturday afternoon. The 23 years old was forced off the pitch after just 18 minutes of action with fears that he may have aggravated his injured thigh.

Initially Moses was regarded as a huge doubt for the trip to the Stadium of Light after Coach Mark Hughes confirmed that the Nigerian winger has a little bit of tightness on his thigh, however the gamble to let Moses play nonetheless may have proved costly for Nigeria who were largely deficient in the wings in their opening games of the AFCON qualifiers.

Moses proved his worth before been hurled off as he yet again provided the assist for Stoke City’s first goal. Moses has been shut out of the national team since his not too impressive outing at the Brazil 2014 World but having finally hit form with the Potters many were keen to see the on-loan Chelsea star in the national team colours yet again.
