MUSWEN commends Oloyede on record of service at JAMB as he ends tenure

Date:

The Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) has commended the outgoing Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Is-haq Oloyede for his record of service, transparency, and institutional reform.

MUSWEN, in a statement on Thursday, jointly signed by its President, Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo and Executive Secretary, Professor Wole Abbas, praised Oloyede’s “exceptional 10-year record of service, transparency, and institutional reform as his historic tenure concludes.”

Professor Oloyede, who was first appointed in 2016 and reappointed for a second term in 2021, officially steps down on July 31, 2026.

He will hand over leadership to the newly appointed Registrar, Segun Aina, a professor of Computer Engineering from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife.

MUSWEN described the outgoing Chief Executive as a “model of transparency and accountability” and highlighted how Oloyede fundamentally transformed a historically compromised institution into a beacon of public efficiency.

It said “Before Oloyede’s administration, JAMB notoriously remitted minimal amounts to the federal treasury. Under his stewardship, the board completely sanitised its financial operations, ultimately returning over N55 billion to the national treasury.”

MUSWEN emphasized that this remarkable fiscal discipline restored public confidence in Nigeria’s public examination systems.

As JAMB prepares for its next chapter, MUSWEN urged all educational stakeholders, including the media and civil society, to offer the same systemic support to the incoming leadership.

“The incoming Registrar, Professor Segun Aina—an expert in digital infrastructure and national examination systems—faces the monumental task of maintaining the strict standards of integrity established over the last decade and we must all assist him to succeed,” MUSWEN said.

MUSWEN extended its prayers for Oloyede’s future endeavors, noting that his public service footprint will remain a template for effective governance in Nigeria.
