The Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC) said it has kick start restructuring and rebranding aimed at repositioning the company to meet international standard.
This according to the firm would provide effective insurance cover for Nigerian farmers.
Speaking to journalists on the development, the Managing Director/CEO, Mr Bode Opadokun, said the company has done so much in the area of Information Technology, human Capital development and training of staffs in order to meets up with the industry requirements.
According to him, the firm has commenced the renovation and refurnishing of its imposing, unique head office in Abuja and this he said will be carried out in phases.
The office which is at the centre of its operations will serve its staff well in redelivering value to customers in a comfortable, smart and modern office setting.
The NAIC boss however, stressed that it was not only renovating the office but its people and services, aimed at delivery better services to its customers,
He noted that the corporation has qualified staff and has been laying more emphasis on professionalism, efficiency, transparency, integrity and team work.
On branch network, he said they have presences in 36 state of the federation aimed at providing insurance cover to all farmers in Nigeria. He added that they operate zonal offices but are now moving into regional offices aimed at empowering regional offices which will be
located in commercial viable areas, while noting that the businesses of reinsurance, energy and special risk will be centralized at the head office in Abuja.
Opadokun said the regional offices will focus on general business without losing focus of agric Insurance business.
He noted that agric premium potentials in urban areas cannot be compared in with what exist in the rural areas, adding that the reason for establishing the regional office is not only to harness the premium potentials in agriculture but to also the opportunities that are available in general business opportunities.
He said “we want our presences to be felt by the general public in all parts of the country and at all levels.”
Speaking on non-life business, he said “We have been engaging in non-life business, although the focus of staffs is majorly agric insurance business but we have refocused and we are giving non-life business enough attention like the agric insurance business, “hereassured.
