The Nasarawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency (NAPHDA) has began massive awareness campaign on maternal, new born and child health across the 13 local government councils of the State.
The campaign engages the use of Town Announcers designed for children under the ages of 5 years and pregnant women.
Addressing selected Town Announcers yesterday in Nasarawa local government of the state, the Social Mobilizer Officer (SMO) Mohammed Kasimu admonished the Town Announcers to dwell their messages on the significance of vitamin ‘A’ to children, nutritional assessment, de-worming, anti-natal care, hand washing, exclusive breast feeding as well as vaccination and HIV testing services from mother to child.
He further maintained that birth registration is very pertinent as according to him “Birth registration is the right of every child. .
He, however, implored rural communities in the area to give adequate attention to the Town Announcers as well as embrace the forth coming vaccination and immunization in their respective domains.
