Nasarawa state government has set up a panel to probe the immediate past government of the state headed by Sen Umaru Tanko Almakura over its handling of the state government property in Lagos State.
The Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, said the 9- man Ad-hoc committee was empaneled to look into how the property was sold and the beneficiaries.
He urged the committee to discharge its duties without fear or favour.
He said: “Today, the Majority Leader of the House, Hon Mohammed Omadefu, brought an issue on the sales of government properties in Lagos an other states
“Honourable members deliberated on the issue and have agreed for the constitution of this Ad-hoc committee, hence the need for your inauguration.
“ Please you should be just and fair in your action as what we want is Justice.”
The Speaker expressed hope of positive findings at the end of the day.
“ The people are monitoring us and our activities. I have hope that at the end of the investigation, something positive will come out.”
The Speaker also urged the committee to discharge its duties without fear or favour.
Responding, Hon Larry Ven Bawa, the Chairman of the Ad-hoc committee assured the Speaker of their commitment not to fail in their duties.
He also assured that the committee would discharge its duties without fear or favour.
