Zamfara APC chieftain debunks defection to PDP

Date:

From Ibrahim Sidi Muh’d, Gusau

The Zamfara state Chieftain of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Kabiru Umar Jabaka, has debunked a report published by a National Daily (Not Peoples Daily) on the 20th December 2019 that, he decamped to the ruling PDP in the state.
At a press conference in the state Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Gusau the state capital yesterday, Professor Jabaka said, he was compelled to debunk the report which according to him was sourceless and baseless.
“I insisted that, my membership with APC especially G-8 faction is still intact, and I have not seen any reason to drop APC for PDP, but that does not mean my support for the PDP-led government against security challenges bedeviled the state is shaking”, Jabaka has declared.
He lamented publishing a sourceless report by a reputable newspaper that earned a widely size of readership across the north and even down the other regions of the country.
“I would have taken a legal action to address the matter as insisted by my followers who have already contracted a lawyer that will file in the case against the reporter and the embattled medium.
“I have multitude number of followers behind me across the 14 local government areas of the state, and were worried and putting pressure on me on why I should decamped without consulting them.
“I had toiled round the state to calm down my followers before they made to understand that, it was just an empty attempt to smear my hard earned political image in the state by some faceless politicians who connived with the medium”, Professor Jabaka has cried.
