An aspirant into the House of Representatives for Maiduguri Metropolitan Council of Borno state, Alhaji Mohammed Bukar said if elected, he would unveil effective youth empowerment mechanisms to curb the involvement of youth into insurgency.

According to him, the rate of unemployment and poverty among youth was alarming, which forced the youth to be misled into militancy and other crimes.

His words “I am not raising alarm on the rising rate of poverty and unemployment which are among contributing factors causing the present insecurity in Borno state. Rather, I’m just drawing the attention of the authorities and other stakeholders on the urgent for everyone to join forces to end the problem”.
