The President of the Nigerian Bar Association NBA, Yakubu Maikyau who gave the advise at the 24th Annual Christmas Carols of the Court said there was need for Nigerians to come together to fight the numerous challenges bedeviling the country irrespective of religion and tribal differences.
He however enjoined all religious and traditional rulers to do more in preaching love, peace and harmony as enshrined in the holy Bible and Quaran to promote peace for sustainable economic development in the interest of all citizens
Earlier, a renowned legal practitioner and Vice Chairman Body of Benchers, Chief Adegboyega Awomolo, urged Nigerians to imbibe good morals and discipline as demonstrated by our saviour Jesus Christ.
He stressed that Christ is the core reason for the season hence the need to show and demonstrate love, peace and harmony with one another irrespective of social and political affiliations for nation building.
In a good will message, a senior pastor, Corner Stone Baptist Church, Rev. Moses Abayowa called on all political office holders to use the yuletide season to brainstorm and come up policies, reforms to meet the yearnings of all Nigerians especially the most vulnerable in the country.
He however called on the Judiciary to intensify efforts to sustain the justice sector by upholding the rule of law which is the only hope for the common man.
The theme of the 24th Annual Carols is “Emmanuel” meaning ‘God With Us’.
