As part of the global celebration of International Women’s Day, the National Council of Women’s Society Kaduna North is set to launch the Accelerating Women’s Entrepreneurship Program to drive economic empowerment and foster gender equality through entrepreneurship.
This was contained in a statement signed by the President of the society, Amina Lawal, and made available to the media in Kaduna yesterday.
She stated that the Accelerating Women’s Entrepreneurship Program has been designed to provide women across Kaduna North local government with access to mentorship, funding opportunities, networking, and educational resources to help turn their business ideas into ventures.
The program, according to her, will provide a platform for women entrepreneurs to access the resources and network necessary to scale their businesses, driving innovation and creating diverse and sustainable economic opportunities for all.
“The International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025, under the United Nations’ theme “Accelerate Action for Gender Equality,” calls for immediate steps to eliminate barriers and create more opportunities for women worldwide.
“Today, we are excited to announce our Women’s Entrepreneurship Project – The ACCELERATE WOMEN Entrepreneurship PROGRAM in honor of Women’s History Month.
“ The Accelerate Women Entrepreneurship Program is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs, fostering innovation, and providing the necessary tools and resources to support their business growth.”
“Through this program, we are committed to breaking down the barriers that women face in the entrepreneurial world and ensuring that women have an equal opportunity to thrive in the business landscape.”
The benefits of the program will include Mentorship sessions with one-on-one guidance from industry leaders and successful entrepreneurs, access to funding —assistance with navigating financial opportunities, grants, and investment channels, workshops and specialized training on business development, marketing, and leadership skills, amongst others.
“Networking Opportunities: create Platforms for collaboration and building connections with other women entrepreneurs. Community Support: A robust network of like-minded individuals to provide support, share experiences, and drive growth in the community.
“We believe that empowering women is not just a matter of equality, but also a matter of economic and social progress. This program is a long-term commitment to building a more inclusive, innovative, and diverse entrepreneurial ecosystem where women can lead, innovate, and thrive.”
Amina Lawal opined the Women’s Entrepreneurship Program is a timely initiative, aligning with the global push for gender equality and economic inclusion adding that, “By announcing this program to mark Women’s History Month March 2025, we hope to inspire and empower women entrepreneurs, accelerate action towards gender equality, and contribute to the achievement of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
“We hope to Launch the program in a few weeks together with key partners who will work together with us to make significant strides in empowering women to lead the charge for change and innovation in the entrepreneurial world.”
