The Adamawa State Coordinator of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), Barrister Khalifa Muhammad Lawan said the Commission will deploy electric vehicles in Adamawa state to boost transportation services.
Barrister Lawan made the disclosure in Yola Wednesday during an interactive session with the stakeholders, stressing that health insurance scheme would also be introduced in the state to improve health care delivery of the citizenry.
Lawan stated that the proposals are part of the Commission’s mandate towards restoring livelihoods, rebuilding communities and the expansion drive on infrastructures for fostering development in the region.
Lawan, said the Commission is determined to ensure every household and community benefits from its interventions by partnering with all stakeholders, including the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
He further explained that, Adamawa will benefit from e-buses, electric vehicles, and tricycles to drastically reduce transportation challenges as the Commission will engage transport workers and other stakeholders before fully activating the initiative.
