The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC, has approved the appointment of Dr. Umar Hashidu, the Managing Director/CEO of Kaduna Electric, to the Initial Stakeholders Advisory Panel, ISAP.
A statement signed by the Deputy Managing Director of Kaduna Electric, Abubakar Sadiq Mohammed, stated that the ISAP, which is made up of seasoned technocrats, energy experts, and professionals, will serve as the “think tank” as well as the highest consultative and policy advisory body in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry.
According to Mohammed, “the ISAP, which has a three-year tenure, will focus on addressing critical challenges in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry, including regular reviews of the Market rules and Grid codes as well as advising NERC on technical issues relating to the operations of the electricity market.”
He described the appointment of Dr. Umar Hashidu into the revered and highly strategic panel as an attestation of the strategic position of Kaduna Electric as a leading player in the nation’s electricity market and an affirmation of the Commission’s approval of the sterling leadership qualities of the Kaduna Electric’s Managing Director/CEO.
