New NDE DG, Fikpo, flags off vocational training for 460 youths in Benue

The new Director-General National Directorate of Employment, NDE Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo has flagged off the training of 460 youths (20 persons in each of the 23 local government areas) of Benue State vocational skills.
The program which is domiciled under the Vocational Skills Department of the agency, is expected to last for three (3) months.
Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo said the training is a deliberate effort by the agency to engage the youth to be self reliant so that they can in turn become employers of labor.
Represented by Mrs. Agnes Ogbaga, Mallam Fikpo urged the participants to take the program seriously by always been punctual and attentive.
Benue State Coordinator,NDE Musa Sadauki urged the participants to take the training very seriously so as to improve their well-being.
In her remark, Head of Department Vocational Skills Department Mrs. Hilda Lawani noted that skills drive the economy of any country.
Mrs. Lawani emphasized that each participant must score 80 percent before they could be certified, urging them to be obedient and adhere to instructions of the trainers.
She added that the youths are undergoing training in fashion, computer, confectionary, hair dressing and barbing amongst others.
