Date:

From Yakubu Mustapha, Minna

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday said the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) is engaging in cheap blackmail because it had seen the handwriting of failure on the war in ten forthcoming Niger East Senatorial bye election.

Niger state governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Israel Ebije, stated yesterday that the allegation that the PDP had concluded plans to rig the election was fallacies which only existed in tne imagination of the opposition.

According to the governor’s spokesman, some members of the opposition have been sponsored to disrupt the conduct of the by-election.

“It is indeed shameful to see a political party only interested in table tipping instead of engaging themselves in constructive politicking and debate on rational issue of common importance. It is sad they have also constituted themselves into groups weaponized to disrupt conduct of the forthcoming by-election”

“Government of Niger state will keep vigil against agents of evil sponsored by the opposition to disrupt peaceful coexistence in the state. We can now see reason why they are not interested in seeing armed security personnel during the election. All what they want is to cause maximum trouble to discredit the forthcoming election.”

Ebije noted that Niger state opposition party is formed by a group of cyclical election losers who are aggrieved and thirsty for vengeance and have no plans to provide dividend of democracy to the people.

He said Niger APC has lost in the affairs of honor and should learn to be good losers adding that blackmail will only be an errand in futility as Niger state people are already aware the leadership of the party are made of self-seeking individuals.
