Niger miners condemn ban on mining, motorcycle

Chairman of the Nigeria Miners Association, Niger State Chapter Alhaji Mohammed Mambo has condemned and call for the reversal of the Federal Government’s policy on banning of mining activities and motorcycle in Nigeria.

Mambo made this disclosure in a press briefing in Minna.

He said that the ban will only cause more havoc and create unemployment among the teaming youths in the country.

He explained that thousands of people are benefiting from the mining sector of the economy and any attempt to ban mining and motorcycle would be counterproductive.

The Association Chairman noted that the Federal Government should support security agencies in ensuring effective intelligence gathering to curb the current security challenges bedeviling the nation.

Representative of women in mining, Khadijat Alimashawun in an interview lamented over the decision of the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration to ban mining.
