Niger State Police Command has paraded a suspected notorious kidnap kingpin Alhaji Bashir Abdullahi who was arrested while planning to recruit armed men to kidnap former Mariga local government chairman and the father of a former Commissioner to fetch him N25 million naira ransom.

Parading the suspect and other criminals in Minna, the State Police Public Relations Officers, DSP Wasiu Abidoun said the suspect was arrested at Kontagora Local Government Area based on credible information.

Bashir Abdullahi, aged forty was suspected to have killed his younger brother of the same address in March, 2023 over business misunderstanding.

According to him, during interrogation Bashir Abdullahi confessed that he planned to kidnap a former Local Government Council Chairman of Mariga, and the father of a former Commissioner of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Internal Security in the State targeted at fetching him N10 million and N15 million respectively.

Similarly, the command has also arrested two suspects for criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide and robbery in the state.
