The National Council of the Nigerian Legion boosted its security force with newly 220 commissionaires course 16.
The ceremony marked a significant milestone for the Corps, reinforcing its commitment to discipline, professionalism, and service to humanity.
This was according to a statement signed and issued by Director Corporate Affairs Nigerian Legion, Vet AA Soaga-Adetoro.
Speaking at the passing out parade in Niger state, the National Chairman of the Nigerian Legion, Grace Morenike Henry, urged the new commissionaires to uphold the values instilled on them during their training and to maintain exemplary conduct as representatives of the Council.
She reiterated the Legion’s zero tolerance for indiscipline, warning that any behavior bringing disrepute to the council could lead to dismissal.
Chairman of Nigerian Legion also advised the new commissionaires to refrain from criminal activities and cautioned them against equating their paramilitary training to military status, emphasizing the distinct role of the Corps.
She promised improved welfare and better opportunities for members, urging them to protect and enhance the reputation of the Nigerian Legion.
Earlier, in his remarks, the Commandant of the Corps of Commissionaires, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Captain NH Bako, commended the positive reforms introduced by the Legion’s first female chairman since her assumption of office.
The Commandant encouraged the Commissionaires to apply the lessons from their training diligently, noting that these values would guide them in fulfilling their duties effectively.
