Contrary to several reports of suspension of Eze Nwosu Ibe as the traditional ruler of Ndigbo in Abuja by Abuja chapter of Ohaneze Ndigbo, the chairman of Imo Community in Abuja (ICA), Chief Ike Obasi (Ohamadike) maintained that Nwosu remains the Igbo paramount ruler in the nation’s capital.
It has been reported recently in national dailies that the paramount ruler was suspended by the Abuja chapter of Igbo apex Socio-Cultural organisation.
Speaking to journalists recently in his office , the chairman said that Nwosu Ibe has been a rallying point for Ndigbo in Abuja for more than 30 years.
The Ohamadike therefore added that for the paramount ruler to be either suspended or removed from office, it must be done with tangible reason at the Abuja chapter of Ohaneze Ndigbo General Assembly.
Declaring the suspension or removal null, void and of no effect to its extent, he said, among others, that the Ime Obi Ohaneze, being an advisory and policy making organ of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Ohaneze executives, representatives of Igbo Community Assembly, Eze-in-Council and state representatives, were not there to pass a resolution for the purported suspension or removal of the royal father.
He reiterated that Nwosu Ibe was still the traditional ruler of Ndigbo in Abuja, even as he added that the royal father a from Imo state and the Imolites were not involved in the so called suspension.
Advising the younger generation to learn how to respect elders, he said that that those who purportedly said that the royal father has been suspended had never done anything meaningful for Ndigbo in Abuja.
