The Taraba State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mr Ella Aji Williams, has urged corps members to remain security conscious, disciplined and dedicated as they proceed to their Places of Primary Assignment (PPAs).
Williams gave the advice on Tuesday during the closing ceremony of the 2026 Batch C Stream I Orientation Course in Jalingo, Taraba State.
He described the ceremony as the successful completion of a three-week orientation programme designed to equip corps members with discipline, leadership skills, patriotism and a spirit of national service.
According to him, the corps members, who arrived at the orientation camp as graduates of different institutions, were leaving as members of one national family united by the ideals of the NYSC scheme.
The coordinator urged them to be punctual, responsible, innovative and committed to their duties at their respective places of primary assignment.
He also encouraged them to utilise the entrepreneurial skills acquired through the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme rather than allow the knowledge to go to waste.
Williams further advised the corps members to comply with NYSC regulations and maintain regular communication with their loved ones as they begin their service year.
He stressed the importance of translating the lessons learnt during the orientation course into responsible conduct, professional excellence and meaningful contributions to their host communities.
