Gombe state government said it procured food items to reduce the suffering of the vulnerable.
Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya stated this while inaugurating a 30 man committee on food palliatives on Thursday in Gombe.
He said the procurement of the items was meant for vulnerable who needed assistance.
The governor while calling on members of the committee, urged them to do the needful by distributing the commodities to the door steps of the people.
He said the palliatives which include rice, beans spaghetti, maize turkey oil among others will go a long way in assisting the poor.
Governor Yahaya also called on the beneficiaries not to relent in using the palliatives judiciously.
