The Dazigau Orientation Camp, Yobe State, on Tuesday passed out a total number of 892 Corps members who participated in the just concluded 2023 Batch ‘B’ stream orientation course were officially passed.
When addressing the corps members, the NYSC’s Director-General, Brig. Gen. Yusha’u D. Ahmed, called on Corps employers to properly mentor and support the Corps members posted to them, as the event featured a march pass in slow and quick time, followed by three hearty cheers in honour of the special guest.
The NYSC Yobe State Coordinator, Mrs. Hafsat Yerima, on behalf of the Director-General, commended the Corps members for their active participation in camp activities and their display of discipline, urging them to sustain the spirit of patriotism, hard work, and resilience as they venture into the service year.
He emphasized the importance of accepting postings in good fate and integrating into host communities while respecting their cultures, and called on the Corps members to engage in personal and group Community Development Service (CDS) projects that will uplift the living standard of their host communities.
While highlighting the entrepreneurial training conducted during the camp under the NYSC skill acquisition and entrepreneurial development (SAED) program, encouraged them to build on the skills acquired and seek post-camp training to empower themselves for self-reliance.
The Director-General cautioned against unauthorized journeys, especially at night and reinstated the need to board vehicles only at approved motor parks to avoid falling into the wrong hands.
While appreciating the support received from the Federal, State, Local Governments, security agencies, traditional rulers and other stakeholders in the success of the NYSC operations.
