Femi Otedola, billionaire businessman and chairman of First HoldCo Plc, says he will soon share key lessons from his entrepreneurial journey to inspire Nigeria’s next generation of business leaders.
In a post shared on X on Wednesday, Otedola reflected on how Nigeria’s business environment has transformed over the past decade, crediting the shift to resilience and hard-won experience.
“Over the past decade, doors have opened for entrepreneurs in Nigeria that once seemed firmly shut. This transformation didn’t happen overnight,” he posted.
‘It’s the result of perseverance, resilience, and the lessons learned from countless setbacks.
“I’ve walked this path myself, facing challenges and breakthroughs that shaped not just my career, but my outlook on what it means to succeed.”
The businessman and chairman of Geregu Power Plc, known for his investments across energy, finance, and philanthropy, said he plans to share more in the coming weeks about his journey and the lessons he hopes will inspire the next generation of Nigerian entrepreneurs.
“I will be sharing something very exciting in the coming days,” he added.
Otedola, who is also a philanthropist, on May 22, said his investment in the financial institution would hit N320 billion in cash by the next capital raising round.
He noted that FAAN, created under the Federal Airports Authority Act of 1996, stands as the fulcrum of Nigeria’s aviation development and international engagement.
“This inauguration is not just a routine event—it is a solemn call to national duty,” the minister said.
“As board members, you are the architects of our aviation future. Your charge is to uphold safety, transparency, innovation, and efficiency in our airports while ensuring they reflect the best of Nigeria to the world.”
Keyamo also outlined four strategic mandates for the board, which include strengthening airport safety in line with global standards, encouraging environmentally responsible and economically viable growth, prioritising customer satisfaction and operational excellence, and building synergies with stakeholders and development partners to position Nigeria as a regional aviation hub.
Speaking on behalf of the board, Ganduje expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and pledged close collaboration with the ministry and relevant agencies.
He assured that the board would adhere to best practices in governance and policy implementation.
On her part, Kuku assured Nigerians of a visible transformation in airport infrastructure under the current administration.
