Over 12,000 Defect to APC in Kaduna LG

No fewer than 12,000 members from various political parties have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The defectors were received at Ramin Kura and Gure/Kahugu wards by the Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Alhaji Abubakar Buba, who represented Gov. Uba Sani.

The event attracted party leaders, government officials, community leaders, and supporters from Ramin Kura, Lere, and Gure/Kahugu wards.

Buba stated that the administration of Gov. Uba Sani remains committed to justice, fairness, and equal treatment for all citizens across Kaduna State.

He noted that the governor’s rural transformation agenda has endeared the administration to people throughout the state, regardless of political affiliation.

According to him, ongoing investments in roads, schools, and other infrastructure continue to garner support for the APC.

The commissioner assured the defectors of equal opportunities and full integration into the party without discrimination.

Chairman of Lere Local Government, Alhaji Jafaru Ahmad, described the defections as a sign of growing confidence in the APC-led administration.

Ahmad commended the new members for their timely decision to join the ruling party.

Also speaking, APC Chairman in Lere Local Government, Mr. Jonathan Shekarau, welcomed the defectors into the party.

Shekarau promised them equal treatment, emphasizing that the APC is dedicated to good governance and addressing the shortcomings of previous administrations.

Representing the defectors, Mr. Nathan Azman and Mr. Rayyanu Dauda, both former PDP members, explained that they joined the APC because of Gov. Uba Sani’s inclusive leadership.

They stated that the administration has shown a commitment to equitable development and improving citizens’ welfare.

The representatives called on the state government to rehabilitate roads in their communities.

They also urged the completion of a secondary school project that has been abandoned in the area for decades.

The defectors pledged loyalty to the APC and promised to support the administration’s development agenda in Kaduna State.
