Over 2,000 Jigawa women and vulnerable enjoyed relief support from the wife of Jigawa State Governor, Hajiya Hadiza Umar Namadi worth N135 million to reduce the effect of fuel subsidy removal.
She explained that, the fund was distributed to various women cut across the state considering their enormous contributions towards the emergence of APC.
“Women have played a vital role, as they came out enmass and casted their votes to APC making the party victorious, as such anything done to them wasn’t a privileged but their rights” she said.
According to her, over 250 elderly women in Jigawa benefitted from N100,000 each under the New Hope Initiative scheme of Nigeria’s first lady, Remi Bola Tinubu as part of the effort to compliment their efforts in supporting APC administration.
Hajiya Hadiza explained that additional N50 million was released for women in Jigawa by the first lady, Remi Bola Tinubu in addition to women agricultural support such as pumping machines.
