The Acting Director General of the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR), Dr. Bakut tswah Bakut has cautioned staff of the Institute against lateness and truancy.
This was made known in a statement released by the Institute in Abuja yesterday and signed by the Resident Information Officer (RIO), IPCR, Mr. Abu I. Michael.
It was stated that Bakut gave the warning during a brief with the Director of Administration, Mr. Sam Abi; Deputy Director in-charge of the Human Resource Unit, Mrs. Gbemisola Agbi, aides and staff of the Office of the Director General and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of IPCR and the Registry.
“The Acting DG observed that lateness and truancy were counterproductive to the operations of Government and such would not be tolerated during the period he would oversee the affairs of the Institute. He stressed the need for staff of the Institute to always be at their duty posts by 8:00am” the statement read in part.
Bakut said he believed in justice and equity, and would as such ensure that the hierarchy is maintained, offices well allocated and respected for officials to take responsibility of their duties and functions of their offices.
He pledged to guide against overlapping of functions and interference pointing out that things would be allowed to run properly.
“You are aware of the change of leadership. Things must work well in the Institute, and we must all do things right for things to work well”, he said.
He then charged all heads of directorates and units to insist on appropriateness by their subordinates.
