The police yesterday arraigned one Eze Anthony, 34, in an Abuja Grade 1 Area Court in Kado, over an alleged theft of N107, 750 worth of diesel.
The prosecutor, Cpl. Friday Idi, told the court that one Yusuf Ali of Mgb Global Estate, Gwarimpa, Abuja, reported the matter on March 30, at the Gwarimpa Police Station. He said that the complainant reported that the accused, a mason, of the same address, allegedly stole his 75 litres of diesel and a wheelbarrow.
Idi alleged that the accused also stole a mixing machine coil from the complainants building site.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the Penal Code.The accused, who confessed to stealing the diesel and wheelbarrow, however, denied stealing the machine coil.He confessed to selling the diesel for N11, 000 to one David Nonso.
The presiding officer, MalamAbubakarSadiq, granted him bail for N20, 000 and a surety who must have a fixed address. Sadiq adjourned the case until April 29 for further hearing. (NAN)
