The National President General of the National Agro-allied Commodities Co-operatives of Nigeria (NACCON) limited, Prof (Emeritus) Victoria Adeyeye, has appointed Mrs. Gladys Joshua Bawa from Niger State to be the overall Agro-allied Chairman of all the women Co-ordinators in the nineteen states in the northern Nigeria.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the National President General of NACCON and made available to newsmen on Monday in Abuja.
She explained that Mrs. Gladys Joshua Bawa was appointed after due diligent check on women in Agro-allied Commodities Co-operatives in value chain system in primary production, processing, packaging, marketing and thrift credit.
Her words: “To this effect all the Adult Female, women, girls, widows, orphanage and single mother should go and register with the team of Mrs. Gladys Joshua Bawa in each of the 19 states of Northern Nigeria.
“It is very sure that this present administration of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu has seriously taken the act of women empowerment and advancement one of his administrative priorities. Huge amount of funds had been set aside for both women and youth empowerment, especially in the areas of Agriculture, Tourism and Mining through commodities co-operatives system in Nigeria”.
She said Mrs. Bawa had been given the mandate to be in charge of all women in Agro-allied to deliver them from poverty through the efforts of the National President General of NACCON Limited as duly registered by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and supervised by the Federal Department of Co-operatives and parastatals/organisations in Nigeria.
