The FCT Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Directorate (RUWASSA) has disengaged the services of Messrs S.Y. Engineering Ltd, its Project Consultant on public conveniences in the Territory due to some alleged infractions and lapses observed in the terms of engagements since November, 2021.
This was disclosed in a letter addressed to the Managing Director of S.Y. Engineering Ltd, Alh. Kabiru Usman, dated 1st June, 2023, and signed by the Executive Director, FCT RUWASSA, Dr. M. A. Dan-Hassan.
Head, Media and Publicity, FCT RUWASSA, Karo Sani Bala, in a statement yesterday, which was made available to PeoplesDaily, said with this development, the firm has no capacity to act for or on behalf of RUWASSA in anything relating to public Convenience Project and other matters in the FCT.
The statement adds: “The Directorate noted that the firm has failed to consummate and execute requisite documents to establish the terms of engagement and agreement between the two parties, leading to poor coordination and management of the Project.
“It was against this backdrop, the letter added, RUWASSA withdrew the earlier offer of engagement made to S.Y. Engineering Ltd”.
