Radda Felicitates Muslims on New Year, Seeks Unity in Fighting Insecurity
Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has felicitated Muslims on the occasion of the 1st of Muharram 1448AH, the Islamic New Year.
The Governor described the day as a time for reflection, spiritual renewal, and recommitment to the values of peace and communal harmony.
“Hijrah is a celebration of journey toward better days. It symbolizes the courage to abandon what is wrong and embrace what is right. It teaches that migration to safety, to peace, to stability is sometimes necessary,” said the governor.
He called on all citizens, regardless of religion, ethnicity, or background, to embrace the spirit of unity that the Islamic New Year represents, and stand together to defeat those who threaten the peace and destroy the future of the state.
Radda reassured that his administration would continue to work with security agencies, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and communities to defeat all enemies of the state with the resources at its disposal.
“The government’s commitment is matched by the sacrifices of security personnel who stand on the frontlines. It is matched by the vigilance of communities who report criminal activity. It is matched by the resilience of the people who refuse to be broken by fear,” he added.
The governor, therefore, urged the people of Katsina citizens to join in a new resolve to reject violence, embrace peace and stand as one people against those who would tear the state apart.
He prayed for Allah’s guidance in these challenging times, urging Muslims and non-Muslims to unite in building the future they deserve.
