Former Zamfara State Governor, Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar has donated 130 truck trailers loaded with assorted grains to members of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) across the fourteen local government areas of the state.
The gesture according to former Governor Yari while flagging off the distribution exercise at the APC headquarters in Gusau (today) yesterday, was meant to alleviate hardship amongst the teeming party members in the state with a view to attain soft landing during the period of Ramadan fasting.
Former Governor Yari, who was represented by former Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa, said each of the fourteen local government areas of the state will receive five trucks of the donated grains which comprised bags of rice, beans, millet, guinea corn and sugar.
“I stand here before you to reiterate that, our leader, Abdulaziz Yari through our great party APC has great concern on your lives and should continue giving you needed care to ensure that your welfare is well prioritized despite being on opposition corridor in the state.
“We, the party leaders in the state have stand firm to protect your dignitaries in the eyes of economic ranking mirror as we will ensure your basic needs are provided and sustained, therefore, I am directed to further inform you that, you all should remain law abiding citizens.
“You will not regret your continued membership of the opposition APC at the state level, this is following our party’s commitment at the federal level towards creation of number of programmes that were meant to fight unemployment and poverty nationwide which we will ensure that you are among the beneficiaries”, Senator Marafa has explained.
Among the beneficiaries were selected of large number of orphans and associations of physically challenged persons in the state, warning that, no member of the APC or any beneficiary should offer money before collection of the gesture, Marafa has stressed.
