The President of the United Church of Christ in Nigeria (UCCN) Rev Amos Kiri has slammed members of the Church who have been preaching the gospel of disunity.
He asserted this in his speech delivered during the priestly ordination of Clergies at HEKAN Church Headquarters Kaduna yesterday.
Rev Kiri reminded the Church that they are in the last days of the end times and the arch-enemy of the body of Christ, the Devil is up and causing restiveness, disunity, and all manner of crises in the Church.
He warned that the Bible talks more about the unity of the church than it does about either heaven or hell because of its importance, saying Churches are made up of people, and there are no perfect people. So people get into conflict with each other.
“The Devil uses segregation; instigating one section or tribe against another and not many of you read between the lines of the devil’s scheme in the Church. Unfortunately, these things have been given prominence above brotherliness and Christian fellowship.
“ But I must state that the unity of the Church is sacrosanct and it is our collective responsibility to ensure that we guard it jealously
“ urge you to vehemently avoid getting involved in creating scenarios that will give the enemy the chance to cause a crisis and divisions among the children of God. You must resist the devil and his tricks to disunite the body of Christ.”
