The Southern Kaduna Youths Forum has expressed its solidarity with Senator Sunday Marshal Katung, who represents Zone 3, and has opposed any attempts to recall him.
This position was articulated in a statement signed by Comrade Solomon Simon, Comrade Aruwa Alhassan (Secretary General), and Comrade Isah Emmanuel Anjadick (National Coordinator and Public Relations Officer), which was made available to the media in Kaduna yesterday.
The statement revealed that a group identifying itself as the Southern Kaduna Progressives Youth Network recently announced plans to initiate a recall process against Senator Katung and called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate him.
The SOKAPU National Youth Wing, which serves as the overarching body for Southern Kaduna youths, strongly condemned this group’s divisive actions. The statement emphasized that this group’s actions are ill-timed and do not reflect the collective aspirations, values, or direction of the youth in Southern Kaduna.
The SOKAPU Youths asserted that Senator Katung, like every elected leader from the region, deserves constructive engagement and respect rather than public ridicule driven by personal or political motives, especially considering his two years of purposeful representation.
