Synagogue church collapse: Trapped woman rescued alive four days after

A  forty five year-old woman whose identity could not be immediately ascertained and who was among those who were in the six storey building that collapsed at the Synagogue Church last Friday and had remained under the debris since the incident happened, walked out of it alive at about 2am this morning to the amazement of rescue workers and sympathizers.

The woman, according to NEMA spokesperson for South-West zone, Ibrahim Farinloye contrary to expectation, neither looked pale or emaciated, though she appeared visibly worried, casting a distance look as she was been hugged and kissed by over joyous members and workers.

However, ten other victims were not all that lucky, as their bodies were recovered from the debris by rescue workers comprising Lagos and federal government working side by side with some foreign rescue operators and volunteers from the foreign branches of the church said to have been invited into the country by the General Overseer of the church, Prophet T.B. Joshua.

With the recovery of these additional ten bodies, the figure of those who lost their lives in the unfortunate incident has risen to 57 while 131 persons have so far survived

Meanwhile, the crowd of people watching from the distance according to Farinloye has continued to swell by the minute, as the news of the miraculous escape from the jaws of death made the rounds.
