The Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo, has expressed the need for the Naval component of Operation Hadin Kai Theater Command (OPHK) combating terror in the Northeast to scale up synergy with other security agencies to root out terror in the region.

 

Gambo was speaking at the Lake Chad basin community of Baga in Borno State, weekend, while donating a Solar-powered borehole by the Nigerian Navy to the community.

 

“The prevailing national security challenges demand robust synergy of effort by the Armed Forces, Nigeria Police, Civilian JTF and other security agencies as well ad all stakeholders,” the CNS said through Rear Admiral Jason Gbassa, the Chief of Administration of the Nigerian Navy.

He charged the Operation Hadin Kai Naval component: “With regards to cooperation with sister services during operations, you must continue to cooperate and work in harmony with all security agencies.”

 

He explained: “The peculiar nature of the Northeast theater of operation, where you serve, requires participation of troops from neighbouring countries under the Multi-National Joint Task Force.

 

Vice Admiral Gambo underscored the necessity of cooperation, synergy, cordial working relationship of all components and contingents of the participating countries (Nigeria, Chad, Niger and Cameroon) in the theater in the interest of national and region security to defeat terrorism and insurgency.

“Your effort is very necessary for the overall success of the entire operations in the Northeast,” he charged the naval troops, adding, “I urge you to maintain the momentum of collaboration with other service do that desired results can be achieved.”
