Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the United States of America (USA), have said that most of the people around President Bola Tinubu are not helping him because they have not been communicating enough to inform the people of the achievements of the administration.
Leader of the stakeholders who spoke to newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday, Prof. Adesegun Labinjo said President Tinubu has done enough to ease his job, but failure to communicate to the public resulted in the nationwide protests against the cost of living also know as #EndBadGovernance.
Labinjo further said that the issue of hardship being faced by Nigerians is not peculiar because people in other climes are also going through the same experience.
He advised the youths not to despair because the Federal Government is already putting in place policies that will make it possible for the country to pull out of the current crisis in the nearest shortest time.
He mentioned the Students Loan Scheme which the government has floated to make it easier for young Nigerians from less privileged families to access education to any level of their choice.
“We acknowledge the facts that there is hardship in the country but it is not entirely a hopeless situation, also the government is working very hard to change the situation. The Students Loan Scheme is there and there are many other deliberate policies targeted at the youths.
“There is no other country we can call our own but this Nigeria and no matter what we are going through today, we must not burn our country and flying the flag of other countries is not acceptable. Even in the USA where we live, there is still challenges”.
Also at a courtesy call on the National Chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdulahi Ganduje, the USA APC stakeholders lauded the leadership of the party for the way they have handled affairs of the party which he said has transformed it to the largest party in Africa.
“We are glad to pay you this courtesy visit in support of the great way you have been leading this our party. We cherish you and admire your leadership style. We acknowledged your role as our leader.
“In support of you and our great President, we said since this country is facing turbulence at this time, we’re going there to show our support for our president, for the national leadership of our party and for our great country”.
However, Prof. Labinjo urged the leadership of the party to improve on its relationship with chapters of the party in the diaspora.
“The biggest challenges we’ve is that the relationships between the party in Nigeria and the party abroad, something, it becomes difficult to talk to the people we need to talk to”.
In his remarks, Ganduje assured that the party will continue to work with all its chapters and organs to assist the government to realize its objectives of providing the dividends of democracy to the people.
