Troops rescue teenage Boko Haram hostage in Borno

The Nigerian army yesterday said a teenager allegedly taken hostage by Boko Haram insurgents was intercepted by troops in Borno state.
This was disclosed in a statement issued in Maiduguri by Director Army Public Relations, Brig. Gen. Texas Chukwu “Troops of 28 Task Force Brigade deployed in operation LAFIYA DOLE on intercepted one Zainab Mohammed-15 years, at Gubla who escaped from Boko Haram terrorists camp.Troops also successfully repelled an attack by the terrorists”, the statement said.
“Items recovered include One AK 47 rifle, One Magazine containing four rounds of 7.62 mm special ammunition.
The hostage will be handed over to the appropriate authority on completion of investigation,” it added.
