Unilorin rejects 102,050 admission seekers

Out of 114,700 applicants seeking admission to read various courses at the University of Ilorin, Kwara state, the authority has matriculated 12,650 students for it 2014\2015 academia session.
The Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof Abdulganiyu Ambali, who confirmed this trend Today, during the matriculation ceremony of the new students, disclosed that 41,470 of the applicants met 180 minimum requirements that qualified them for post-UTME screening.
He also said that 22,601 applicants passed the University of Ilorin Post-UTME test while 80 international students were admitted among the total number of students admitted for the session.
The Vice-Chancellor said the authority admitted total of 12,650 students from 114,700 applicants that make the University their first choices.
While advised the new students against violating school rules and regulation in his speech, entitled “Arise and Fly”, the Vice-Chancellor said they should follow the principles of “do what is right and shun what is wrong”.
He said: “though everyone with native wisdom and good conscience knows what is right and wrong, many people still find themselves on the wrong lane.”
The Vice-Chancellor warned students against indecent dressing, examination malpractice, cultism, violence on campus and disobedience to constituted authority, stressing that they should maintain their integrity by disallow anyone to take advantage of them.
