The aspiration of President Bola Tinubu to retain his position in the 2027 elections got a boost on Thursday when the ambassador of Vietnam, Mr. Buiquoc Hung said he has done well to earn a reelection.
Ambassador Hung who spoke when he paid a courtesy visit on the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nantawe Yilwatda said he is delighted to witness the macroeconomic transformation going on under the leadership of President Tinubu.
He noted Nigeria and Vietnam share a lot of similarities especially with the political system, history, economy as well as having a relatively young population and being peace loving countries.
“Our strategic positions in our regions in Southeast Asia and West Africa. The President is taking lead in terms of West Africa and I also want to congratulate the national chairman of the party on the achievements by the Nigerian government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu under the leadership of APC.
“Nigeria is recording very good achievements in terms of macroeconomic stability in terms of stabilising local currency naira and in terms of upgrading investment. Nigeria has been gaining a lot in the last few years.
“We are happy about the future of APC in the coming election because next January 2027, there will be an election of the president and assembly members. We hope that APC successfully wins the election. I thank you, your Excellency, for welcoming us this morning”.
Responding, the National Chairman of the APC, Prof. Nantawe Yilwatda noted that Nigeria and Vietnam have been good friends, adding that with their mutual concerns, they can promote their relationship in agriculture and ICT.
Yilwatda added that the biggest importance of the visit is the mutual lessons on how to migrate from third world countries to developing and developed countries.
“The biggest takeaway is the lessons we are learning from Vietnam from migrating from third world country to a developing country. The roadmap is to ensure that by 2030, the middle income countries have become stable. And by 2045 it will be a developed country.
“Most of the strategic plans are that we are providing manpower development as a country. The government is providing the best infrastructure. By the history of Nigeria, we have the longest road network from Sokoto to Badagry and from Lagos to Calabar. The most expensive project is the gas pipeline running from Warri to Kano and from Lagos Maradi in Niger”.
The APC National Chairman added that Nigeria will continue to partner with progressive minded countries as partners in progress.
