The Village head of Angwan Dodo Community in Gwagwalada Area council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Alhaji Yahaya Mohammed, has appealed to the chairman of the council, Hon. Abubakar Jibrin Giri as well as the leadership of the FCT Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB) to join hands to build a junior secondary school in the community, for the benefit of their children.
Mohammed, noted that due to the absence of a secondary school, children from community are forced to be crossing the busy Abuja-Lokoja expressway, in order to attend schools outside, on a daily basis.
He also urged the Giri-led council to build a health care centre in the community, so as to enable the inhabitants have access to proper medical care.
The Village head, in an interview with Peoples Daily, at the weekend in Gwagwalada, further pleaded with the council chairman to provide them with transformers, to boost electricity supply in the community.
He added that the people of the community are in dire need of boreholes, to enable them to have access to potable drinking water, at all times.
Again, he urged the chairman to deem it fit to repair the dilapidated roads at the various communities in Gwagwalada, so as to enable easwe the plight of commuters plying the roads.
Furthermore, the community leader called on the chairman and the leadership of the FCT police command to build a police outpost in the community, so as to arrest the rising security challenges facing his people.
He however assured that his leadership would continue to join hands with other tribal chiefs, for the promotion of peace in the area.
Commenting on the forthcoming general elections, the monarch advised the entire youths in Gwagwalada to shun any acts capable of generating crisis during and after the elections, in the area.
