In the wake of recent disruption in water supply in some areas of the Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Water board assured residents that proactive steps will be taken to prevent such happenings in the future.
The Board however has apologised to residents especially those recently affected by the disruption in water supply.
Acting General Manager, Mr. Daniel Audu, in a statement issued on Monday, said the interruption was caused by emergency works by the contractor on a major pipeline that broke.
It explained that the incident took the board unawares prior to announcements, to prepare the mind of residents.
Audu expressed gratitude for the customers’ patience throughout the period of the disruption.
He said the board’s engineers have since rectified the issue.
The statement read in part, “ we appreciate Abuja residents, particularly our customers for their understanding during the recent water disruption that affected various parts of the territory.
“The disruption was caused by the rupture of a major pipeline due to contractor-related works.
“We assure the public that proactive measures will be taken to prevent future occurrences and expresses gratitude for the public exceptional Patience throughout the period of water disruption.”
