The National Vice President 1 of Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities, Alhaji Abdullahi Aliyu Usman, has expressed dismay with the Minister of Labour and Productivity for not including their members among the beneficiaries of the extended Federal Government Special Public Works Programme of 774,000 job opportunities to Nigerians which was lunch last weekend in Kebbi.
He stated this while briefing newsmen on Monday in Brinin Kebbi, saying that the programme which was launched on Saturday by the Minister of Justice, Abubakar Jika Mallami in Kebbi State did not involve their members among the beneficiaries.
“Our members can even do better than people without disability. There is a need to include people with disabilities in any Government programme, we are also complete human beings like others” he added.
The National Vice President 1 who also accused the member of Kadimyya Foundation for inviting them that their member will be given 330 tricycles and wheelchairs while they end up giving them 36 only.
“you see they are using them to achieve their political aims for their selfish interest, the first day they launched the programme they gave us 21 while after a series of complaints they had 15 numbers to them” he added.
He then warned the politician’s and other stakeholders to stop using them and steal or syphoned public funds, “we are also feet to work, we are a family men with children and our women can also perform better” he said.
