Yobe State Commissioner, Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Tourism and Solid Minerals, Hon. Kaigama Umar has said, the state government is making efforts to develop minerals resources deposited across the state to generate more revenue.
The Commissioner made this known when opened a tender bids for consultancy service in respect of production of comprehensive road map to develop the Solid Minerals in the state.
He said, Yobe state have so many solid minerals deposited under the ground across the state, and no reasons to complain about hanger or lack of money. Adding that, the state government will develop the sector to generates more revenue.
He said, “We must work for difference ways and means of generating our local resources to complement what we are getting from the federation account.”
Kaigama added that, the Yobe being a home of Solid Minerals should not continue to depends on the federation account allocation as is grossly inadequate to achieve its desired goals as a state.
In regarding the illegal mining in the state, Hon. Karima explained that, the state government is taking remarkable steps and one this reason is inviting these companies to have a comprehensive road map and the end of the day, illegal mining will be stopped.”
Five companies indicated their interest for the bid and all of them responded which includes, Focus Consult Ltd, Matlock Nigeria and Partners Ltd, Ahila Technology Ltd, Dotnet Technology limited and Pathways Mapping Respectively, respectfully.
Commissioner noted that, the ministry will submit the bids documents to technical sessions to critically look at it, analyse and send it to Bureau on public procurement for final betting.
