Date:

From Uche Uche, Damaturu

The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) has assured of its participation in the coming by-election for Nangere constituency in the state House of Assembly.

Chairman of the conference, Alh. Umar Mohammed Kukuri, who revealed this to reporter in his office in Damaturu, said the conference has made all necessary arrangements to contest the seat with any other party.

He said the conference decided to participate in the election in order to among other things, convince the world that peace has returned to Yobe state.

Kukuri, who is also the chairman of the National Conscience Party (NCP), has therefore urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to provide level playing ground for all the political parties to partake in the election.

He also called on security agents to provide adequate security cover during the election to ensure a free election and on the youths to avoid any act that would marr the conduct of the election.

Peoples Daily recalled that the seat of the Nangere constituency has remained vacant following the assassination of the former member representing the zone, Alh. Adamu Degubi by gunmen, two years ago.
