Why we’ll keep promoting Abuja via FCTA’s SDAs – Hazat Sule

The Director, Information and Communication Department, Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Muhammad Hazat Sule, has assured commitment to continually promote the activities and the image of the FCT Administration including Secretariats, Departments and Agencies (SDA’s).
Sule noted that the Department has a statutory responsibility to project the activities of the Ministers as well as other organs of the FCT Administration to the World.
Making this point when he received the delegation of the management staff of the FCT Emergency Management Department led by the Ag. Director-General, Engr. Abdulrahman Mohammed, on a working visit at his office, in Garki, Abuja.
He explained that the aim of establishing the department by the authority, is to efficiently promote and project the activities and the image of the ministers as well as other agencies of the government in the FCTA.
Earlier, Engr. Abdulrahman commended the leadership of the Information department for the good job it’s been doing in promoting the affairs of FEMD and all other agencies of the FCTA.
He disclosed that his office has taken a proactive step to respond to emergency matters,particularly the recent earth tremor that occurred in parts of the FCT.
He stated that soon as the incident was reported, he activated the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and quickly moved to the site of the incident to conduct on the spot assessment of the situation in unison with other Federal Agencies.
He added the organization is proactive in carrying out awareness campaign as well as removing obstacles that could cause flood in the FCT.
He revealed that its officials visited Abaji, Yaba and other places where it interacted with traditional rulers and other stakeholders in an effort aimed at tackling flood and its associated challenges in the Territory.
According to him, the recent early warning signs, flood alerts, by the Federal Government where states such as Kogi, Niger bordering the FCT are listed as potential flood prone zones, also push FEMD to work harder; noting that anything that affects Niger and Kogi may likely affect the FCT.

He described the FCT Department of Information and Communication as a critical stakeholder that is positively reporting the activities of FEMD.
