Yobe Hisbah destroys over 170 bottles of whisky in Gashu’a

In its efforts to flush selling, trading and consuming alcohols, the Yobe State Hisbah Board has destroyed over 170 bottles of Alcohol worth N450,000 confiscated at one of the hotels in Gashu’a town of Bade local government area.
The Bade Local Government Council chairman, Hon. Ibrahim Babagana Yurema, who led the destruction said the local government council will flush out the sellers, traders and consumers of the alcohol in the area.
The chairman added that, the alcohol was confiscated during a Hisbah patrol at one of the well-known hotel in Gashu’a town, saying the council is concern about intoxication and consumption of alcohol among the teeming youths which is affecting their futures.
He said consumption of alcohol and other intoxicants that distorted the mental capability of a person was forbidden in Islam, pointed out that the council would continue to fight against immoral acts.
The Yobe North, Zonal Commandant of Hisbah Board, Sheikh Isah Ibrahim Zango, revealed that the Sharia Court in the state, has found the seller of the alcohol guilty and sent him to prison, adding that the court also ordered Hisbah to destroy the arrested whisky.
