Yobe State government is to host 38th National Quranic Recitation Competition in the state which commences today, Friday of 22 December, 2023.
This was disclosed by the Yobe state Commissioner Ministry of Home Affairs, Information and Culture, Hon. Abdullahi Bego while briefing journalists at NUJ Secretariat, Damaturu.
According to him, about 296 participants drawn from the 36 States of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory are to feature in Ten (10) Categories of the Competition.
The Commissioner said that, one of the objectives of the event is to promote Quranic Recitation within muslim communities.
He added that the winner of the event will represent the country at the international level.
He said Yobe has eight (8) participants in the competition.
