Yoruba Council of Obas , Chiefs in 19 Northern States mourn Olubadan

The Yoruba Council of Obas and Chiefs in the 19 Northern States and Abuja, has joined the Nigerian community to mourn the death of the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadan Land Oba (Senator) Lekan Balogun.
The Chairman of the Council Amb. Mohammed Arigbabuwo asserted this while speaking to the media in Kaduna yesterday.
The monarch commiserated with Governor Seyi Makinde, the government and people of Oyo State, the Olubadan-In-Council, immediate and extended family members of the deceased stressing that “the entire members of the Yoruba Council of Obas and Chiefs in the 19 Northern States and Abuja, are with you in spirit and prayers at this critical period of grieve.”
According to him, the late Olubadan was a man whose place in history is already etched in gold because of not just his quality royal leadership to his people but also his service to the country as a senator of the Federal Republic.
He described the short reign of Oba Balogun as monumental and historic to the people of the ancient city of Ibadan and humanity in general.
“Kabiyesi was an exemplary leader whose reign was marked by wisdom, grace, and devotion to his people, and his contributions to the development of Ibadan and Oyo State in general cannot be overstated.
“As we mourn his passing, let us also celebrate his legacy of leadership and public service, as well as the profound impact he had on the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.”
