The Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission (YSIEC) has scheduled local government elections for June 6, 2026, and announced the cost of nomination forms ranging from ₦200,000 to ₦300,000.
Aspiring chairmanship candidates are to pay ₦300,000, vice chairmanship aspirants ₦250,000, while councillors forms will go for ₦200,000, according to a press release signed by Kadai Ma’aji Jumbam, the commission’s Permanent Member.
It said that the sale of forms runs from March 22 to March 31, 2026, at the commission’s office in Damaturu.
YSIEC urged all political parties intending to participate in the polls to obtain and submit their nomination forms within the stipulated timeframe, emphasizing strict compliance with the electoral timetable.
The commission noted that the exercise is in line with established electoral guidelines governing local government polls in the state.
