Yuguda urges FG to beef-up security in public schools in North-east

The Bauchi State Governor, Isa Yuguda has urged the federal government to beef up security around public schools in the north-east part of the country in order to restore the fallen standard of education.

Yuguda who spoke on the occasion of the 2014 children day celebration with theme, “Unite for peace of Nigeria, unite for children”, at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi said that the massacre of some students of the federal government college, Buni-Yadi in Yobe and the recent abduction of over 200 girls at Chibok in Borno could have been averted if only there was adequate security at the schools.

Yuguda who was represented by the commissioner of religious Affairs, Saidu Barau, the Governor said “As a government, we commiserate with families of those who lost their daughters to hands of terrorists. As we continue to pray for their timely release, we are pleading with the federal government to intensify its efforts by ensuring that these girls are released to unite with their families.”
