Zamfara State chapter of the Association of mobile phones and allied products traders of Nigeria has elected new leaders to steer the affairs of the association for the next three years.
The election which was held at Taula Arena Gusau Children’s park, has witnessed the emergence of Kabiru Garba Mukhtar as Chairman who was elected to run his second tenure with 59 votes against his opponent, Ibrahim Kado who scored 49 votes.
Earlier, national representative who coordinated and monitored the election, Alhaji Murtala Idris, informed that, there were 41 candidates contested for various positions in the association that has 2331 members in Zamfara state.
Alhaji Idris further noted that, there were 111 votes to be cast which would determine the victory of each candidate against his opponent in the election, adding that, display of fosters and any form of campaign at the election ground was prohibited.
Other candidates that emerged winners to serve as principal officers were, Ashiru Shuaibu Zurmi who won the seat of the Secretary General with 60 votes against Abubakar Yahaya Maradun who scored 50 votes.
Others included Salisu Umar as Vice Chairman [1] and Basiru Ismail Galadima as Vice Chairman against their opponents Tasiu Sani and Yusuf Lawali Tunfafiya respectively.
