Preparatory to 2015 governorship election in Enugu State, the Enugu Businessmen and Professionals Forum (EBPF) has drummed support for Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, saying he is the right candidate for the job.

In a statement issued yesterday, the National Coordinator of the group, Casmir Ifeanyi, also commended Governor Sullivan Chime of the state for nominating Ugwuanyi as the consensus candidate of the state’s chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“The consensus choice of Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi as the sole standard bearer for the PDP gubernatorial elections in Enugu State come 2015 is a good development. I think it shows the level of unity and maturity among the PDP members in Enugu State”, he said in statement.

He also highlighted the leadership qualities of the governorship aspirant, saying he is an apostle for economic empowerment and poverty alleviation, as well as an apostle for infrastructural development, particularly for rural dwellers.

Ifeanyi also pointed out that given his background in the small scale industry, he would deploy his knowledge of economic empowerment in the state, such that Enugu would be transformed industrially to become self reliant.

“We then would have an Internally Generated Revenue base that will be capable of sustaining development and providing employment”, he said.

Meanwhile, he commended Governor Sullivan Chime over his numerous achievements in the state, saying the governor has been able to transform the state by keeping to his four point agenda of rural development, economic expansion, among others.

On this note, he commended the Governor for nominating a worthy successor who has been accepted by both former Governor of the state, Jim Nwobodo and former Senate President, Ken Nnamani, urging the citizens of the state to support him for victory in the 2015 elections.
